We launched a Kickstarter campaign a couple of days ago. And there was an excellent feedback from some smart guys. One of those was a question about the support of D&D dice, to which I had to give a negative answer at the time.
However, since the Dice Device is advertised as an open and easy-to-develop platform, I chose to demonstrate it using that particular example. Fortunately, there were members from the community who assisted with the design (thank you, Meghan ;-)).
The artwork took about 1 hour to create. The coding was very simple as it leveraged the existing infrastructure for a current d6 dice. Including menu updates and testing, it took about 2 hours.
The implementation was so easy that we have already updated the production version of the Dice Device. Now, every Dice Device will include d20 die.
It’s fair to say that the dice support is not yet completely universal. Currently, we support 1xd6, 2xd6, and 1xd20. More options will be added, but likely after the Kickstarter campaign is over.
